Salma Hayek wields a fearsome armory as her rival, a powerful gangster, attempts to have her extinguished following a bad deal with the police.

The 92-minute film is set in the apartment of Hayek's character, call girl Everly, who has snitched on her ex, a gang leader with the DEA under his thumb.

So it's a revenge movie, but there's motivation on both sides -- Everly has only just survived the first excruciating onslaught when she starts to mount a formidable defense of her own.

Turns out she knows a thing or two about guns.

Joe Lynch, who helmed Peter Dinklage comedy "Knights of Badassdom" and Henry Rollins horror "Wrong Turn 2," directs from a script based on his own idea for the film; the Yale Hannon treatment made 2010's 75-plus Black List of unproduced scripts, alongside those for "Looper," "Chronicle," "The Hunger Games" and "Argo."

Following previews at Austin, Texas's Fantastic Fest in September, "Everly" is headed for a VOD and online release this January 23, 2015, with a theatrical version dated for February 27th in the US.
