Passengers from Covid-affected nations being tested: health minister
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque today said passengers from Covid-affected countries are being tested for Covid-19.
"We have instructed all sea, land and airports to conduct Covid-19 antigen tests on passengers coming from China and other Covid-affected countries. We have taken measures for testing at all ports and have also kept the hospitals in our country ready," the minister said while inaugurating a month-long victory fair at Manikganj Government Boys' High School this evening, reports our local correspondent.
The health minister said public gatherings should be avoided and masks should be worn at gatherings, buses and shops.
"As the number of Covid-19 cases can increase at any time, we have to take precautions so that the people of the country are not affected. Those who are going abroad and those who have not taken the vaccine in the country, need to take it," he said.
