4 more die of suspected measles cases in 24 hours: DGHS

Four more people died of suspected measles cases in the 24 hours till 8:00am today, taking the total death toll to 98, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

Of the four deaths, three were reported from the Dhaka division, and one from Chattogram.

It also reported 787 new suspected cases during the period, raising the total number of suspected cases to 6,476, the directorate said.

A total of 16 deaths has so far been confirmed as caused by measles, including two in the last 24 hours, the DGHS said.

The directorate said it reported nine confirmed measles deaths on Friday, but updated data raised the number to 16.
