Six more die from measles, measles-like symptoms in 24 hours

Six more children died from measles and measles-like symptoms in 24 hours (till 8:00 am today), taking the total number of confirmed and suspected measles deaths to 317.

Of the six, two are confirmed measles deaths while four are suspected cases, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the two deaths, the number of confirmed deaths rose to 54. The deaths were reported from the Dhaka division, according to the DGHS.

With four more suspected measles deaths reported during the same period, the total number of suspected deaths is now 263.

Of the latest deaths, two were reported from Sylhet division, while one each was reported from Khulna and Rajshahi divisions.

During the same period, 259 new confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total to 5,726.

Besides, the DGHS recorded 1,186 new suspected cases in 24 hours, bringing the total to 42,979.
