Two more suspected measles deaths push RMCH toll to 40 this year
Two more patients with measles-like symptoms have died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of suspected measles deaths at the hospital to 40 this year.
According to the latest update from the hospital, the latest deaths occurred within the 24-hour period ending at 12:00pm today.
During the same period, 14 new patients with suspected measles were admitted to the hospital, while 36 patients were discharged.
Currently, 125 patients with suspected measles are undergoing treatment at RMCH, said Dr Shankar K Biswas, spokesperson of RMCH.
“So far this year, a total of 391 suspected measles patients have been admitted to the hospital,” he added.
