Left High and Dry
Shyampur, Dhaka. Residents of Shaympur queue at Faridabad Abasan Gate to gather water from police tankers on May 3. Around 50,000 people in the capital's Shyampur and Nayatola have been facing serious water crisis for weeks, as two Wasa water pumps in the area remain inactive due to technical problems.

Dirty Canal
Basabo, Dhaka. This canal used to carry rain and flood water from Basabo, Madartek and Nandi Para to the Trimohoni River. Now the canal is used as a dumping zone, thanks to the neglectful attitudes of concerned authorities. The deplorable state of the canal also puts residents of the areas at risk of severe water logging during the monsoon season.
