MAD GENIUS
PABLO NERUDA
July 12, 1904 to September 23, 1973
Pablo Neruda was the pen name and, later, legal name of the Chilean poet-diplomat and politician Neftali Ricardo Reyes Basoalto. Neruda became known as a poet while still a teenager. He is best known for poetry collections ‘Book of Twilights’ and ‘Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair.’ On September 23, 1973, Neruda died of prostate cancer in his house in Isla Negra.
"Someday, somewhere – anywhere, unfailingly, you'll find yourself, and that, and only that, can be the happiest or bitterest hour of your life.
I can write the saddest poem of all tonight.
I loved her, and sometimes she loved me too.
You are like nobody since I love you.
Everything is ceremony in the wild garden of childhood."
