Managing Stress

Managing Stress

It's okay to feel stressed out after a hard day's work. But stress has a way of creeping into your life, threatening to take complete control of it and leaving you exhausted and frustrated. Fret not, for these five tips will help you manage stress and anxiety issues.

1.       Eliminate as Many Sources of Stress as You Can
It'd be very difficult to get away from professional and personal responsibilities but there are stressful situations that you can avoid. If you don't want to attend a social do, give it a miss. If you are stressed by the clutter in your house, donate the unwanted things. It's that simple!

2.       Take a Breather
If you can't remove the source of stress, remove yourself from the situation. If you can't deal with a crying baby at that moment, give yourself the permission to step away. This will help you return with a fresh perspective on your problems.

3.       Say No
When you can't say no to even the most absurd requests, you are basically spreading your arms in welcome to stressful situations. Set limits and boundaries appropriately and learn to say no to requests that might put unnecessary strain on your life.

4.       Accept Support
Sometimes things are out of your control, and you just need to accept that. When things go out of hand, call a friend or loved one who you think will understand your problem. Share your concerns and feelings with them to help relieve stress.

5.       Move Your Body
Yes, exercise is the key to a sound body and mind. Find enjoyable forms of exercise that will help you look forward to this daily routine. You don't need to hit the gym to get your body moving. You can dance, jog, bike or walk five times a week for at least 30 minutes.
