NATURE IN ITS POETIC IMAGES

NATURE IN ITS POETIC IMAGES

Nature is always a celebration, especially in Bangladesh. The six seasons the landscape goes through are each a manifestation of the multi-layered flavour which defines the workings of the natural. Just how important it all is comes through the annual ritual that is the national tree festival.
Broaden the idea and what you have here is a coming together of trees, plants, flowers, blossoms, fruits, indeed everything that encompasses the largesse of nature as it offers its gifts to our world. With Bangladesh's soil being fertile, where a seed, no matter where it has been cast away, grows into a plant and then into an ivy or a tree, it goes without saying how fortunate the country is in terms of its geographical niche in the world.
The theme for the National Tree Fair 2014 says it all: More Trees, More Progress.
You might have had reason to observe the affluence typified by a presence of green. Time was when planting a tree and partaking of its fruit were part of the spontaneity of living. But with such tales of woe as a cutting down and pilferage of trees, with lopsided urbanization encroaching on territory where once wild flowers and honey-dappled fruits sprouted out of the land, it now becomes necessary to remind people of what we have lost and how much we can recover.
Each of these images tells a story. All these images together weave the fecund poetry we call nature --- or a going back to Creation.
