Man dies while waiting in long queue at Dinajpur petrol pump

46-year-old fell ill at a fuel station in Kaharole and may have suffered a cardiac arrest, according to a doctor

A man died this morning after falling ill while waiting in a long queue at a fuel station in Kaharole upazila of Dinajpur.

The deceased was identified as Enaytul Karim, 46.

Family members said Enaytul had gone to visit his in‑laws in Esayel village and later went to Asma Latifa Petrol Pump after running out of fuel.

Witnesses reported that after waiting for several hours under the sun, Enaytul collapsed. Locals rushed him to the Kaharole Upazila Health Complex, where on‑duty doctor Mokrema Sarkar Megha declared him dead around 10:30am.

She said he showed no signs of life upon arrival and might have suffered a cardiac arrest.

Syamal Chandra Barman, officer‑in‑charge of Kaharole Police Station, confirmed that Enaytul fell sick at the petrol pump when waiting in line.

His relatives later took the body to his ancestral home in Birganj, he added.
