Tarique Rahman pledges EPZ in Cumilla
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has pledged to build an export processing zone (EPZ) in Cumilla to create jobs, while addressing an election rally at Suwagazi Digbajir Field at 10:30pm.
Responding to demands for Cumilla to be made a separate division, Tarique said food security and employment must come first.
“We will make a division, but will a division alone ensure food for people? It will not,” he remarked.
He also announced plans for a canal-digging programme to tackle agricultural, irrigation, and flood problems.
“If BNP comes to power, I will come to Cumilla and Chandpur to inaugurate canal-digging programmes,” he said.
Tarique cautioned that constant criticism of other parties does not benefit citizens.
“Sometimes criticism is necessary. But what people in Bangladesh really need is food, healthcare and jobs,” he added
