Voter listing postponed in Moulvibazar
Work on voter listing and preparation of national identity (ID) cards which started in the municipality area here has been postponed after two days of its beginning, District Election Commission (EC) office sources said.
Election Working Group, a voluntary organisation, working for voter listing and preparation of national identity (ID) cards, also announced this on Thursday. They said the work was postponed temporarily due to non-completion of technical preparation of database.
On contact, Moulvibazar district election officer (DEO)_Belayet Hussain Chaudhury said that on completion of technical preparation of Database, the process of voter listing will start again. Enumerators have collected information of about 6,000 voters in two days (October 30 and 31), he said. The collected information will be used later, he said.
