Prof Yunus is our pride. He has got America's highest civilian award. It is good news for any Bangladeshi. The success of Prof Yunus is sufficient to change the image of our nation. This incident would definitely encourage many other Bangladeshis to work for the betterment of the country. Yunus won the hearts of millions of Bangladeshis through his hard work and right thought. President Barrack Obama rightly called Yunus, “An agent of change.” I do not hesitate to say that at this old age too, Prof Yunus looks very young and cheerful. This signifies that age is no bar for him and he has “miles to go.” Like Lord Tennyson's Ulyssis, he possesses iron determination “to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”

It is strange to see that neither our government, nor the opposition has said a single word of felicitation to Dr Yunus after his being awarded the highest civil honour medal "The Agent of Change' in a WH ceremony. The reference by President Obama though very short as expected, he spoke the full story of Dr Yunus' achievement in a few seconds. President Obama had to take care of 16 recipients in the same order based on the field of success story of each one. I think President Zillur Rahman should kindly come forward to pay respect to Dr Yunus for the honour he has earned for our country. I am sorry to note that the media has also been like our political leaders. They could make their own story without waiting for words from our politicians. Faqrul Quadir, California, USA
