5 hurt in clash for fertiliser
At least five people including a union parishad (UP) member were injured in a clash over distribution of slips for fertiliser at Terosree in Ghior upazila in Manikganj yesterday.
The injured are -- Zahangir Alam Tara, member of Poyla UP, Anwar Hossain and Nazrul Islam of Basudevbari village, and Mostofa and Salam of Shidhunagar village.
Seriously injured Zahangir Alam was taken to Ghior Upazila Health Complex.
The farmers of Basudevbari and Shidhunagar village got engaged in a clash as they vied for priority over taking fertiliser from dealer Haji Khorshed Alam's shop, locals said.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
