Moulvibazar FFs urge govt
Freedom fighters of Moulvibazar have urged the government to take legal steps against Jamaat-e-Islami leaders for their war crimes in 1971.
Condemning the comments of Jamaat Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojahid and former bureaucrat and Jamaat sympathiser Shah Abdul Hannan, they called upon the people to resist the anti-state elements.
"People of the country know the role of Rajakars, Al-Badars and Al-Shams in 1971. Crimes committed against the nation by Jamaat men were not secret, and issues of their mouthpiece the daily Sangram during our Liberation War is enough to prove their offences. We are still alive and ready to face the collaborators again," they said in a statement.
Jamaat leaders have no right to talk on our Liberation War and conduct a political party, they said.
Former district commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Dewan Abul Khayer Choudhury, freedom fighters AK Sujaul Karim, Dewan Abdul Wahab Chaudhury, Anu Miah, SM Mujib, Jamal Uddin and Syed Mohsin Ali signed the statement.
