Donors visit Manikganj education centres
Development partners and government officials visited newly constructed building of Shivalaya Kendrio Model Government Primary School, Manikganj Primary Training Institute (PTI) and under-construction Shivalaya Upazila Research Centre (URC) in Manikganj on Thursday.
Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) implemented the works while eleven donor agencies including Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank (WB), DFID, EU, Swedish SIDA, Canadian CIDA, The Netherlands, NORAD, JICA, Aus AID, and UNICEF funded the project -- Primary Education Development Program-II (PEDP-II).
The visitors included ADB Country Director Hua Du, Canadian High Commissioner Barbara Richardson, Acting Head of DFID Sara Sanyhumbi, Charge d Affairs of European Commission Francoise Collet, Head of Development Corporation of Embassy of Sweden Ola Hallgren and JICA Resident Representative Nobuko Suzuki Kayashima.
