BDR-BSF flag meeting held

The Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) during their battalion-level flag meeting at Bhomra border in Satkhira Sadar upazila yesterday agreed to resolve their major disputes through discussions and by taking timely measures. Commanding officer (CO) of the 41 Rifles Battalion Satkhira Lt Col Saidur Rahman and Commandant of 191 BSF Battalion Asim Kumar Bhyas led their respective sides. Trans-border issues including smuggling, border trespass, killing of Bangladeshi nationals by BSF, unprovoked firing by BSF, arms smuggling, border crossing of anti-social elements, demarcation of bordering pillars were discussed, among other issues, in the meeting. In the meeting both BDR and BSF agreed to resolve all the problems through peaceful discussion by holding flag meetings.
