10 years RI for possessing Phensidyl
A court here has sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) for possessing 121 bottles of Phensidyl.
The convict is Monir Hossain, son of Abul Hossain of Shibnagar village in Kaliganj upazila.
Jhenidah Additional District and Sessions Judge Rokeya Begum pronounced the verdict on Wednesday. The convict was also fined Tk 5,000, in default, to suffer one year more RI.
A team of Narcotics Control Department raided the house of Monir Hossain on January, 21, 2004. The team arrested him with 121 bottles of Phensidyl.
