He refutes Adviser Alauddin's remark on his political past; govt embarrassed (May 3, 2010) We feel relieved that he has resigned. That was the only option open to him.
Raja This was highly incompetent of the government. It should have first and foremost appointed only Freedom Fighters as investigators.

Nilufar Yesmin Biswas 'He was neither a collaborator nor a freedom fighter during the liberation war'. What was he then? As we know, people didn't have multiple choices in those crucial days of 1971. There was a fine line instead. Either you support the freedom fighters or you get affiliated with the collaborators. Mr. Matin should have been perfectly vetted before being appointed as Chief Investigator.

Reaz Hassan It is not a good suggestion to appoint someone on the grounds of being a freedom fighter or an AL supporter. It is a question of CONSCIENCE that all govt. officers must perform their duties entrusted upon them properly. Stigmatising people on political past alone is wrong.
