Folk festival on Jan 15, 16
Speakers at a discussion on Saturday urged all to make the upcoming folk festival to be held on January 15 and 16 a success.
The discussion was held at the auditorium of Chittagong Academy with Abul Quashem in the chair organised by Samaj Samikkha Sangha.
The speakers said the appeal of the folk culture is all the same in every country irrespective of language and religion as well as region. The experience achieved by the people all over the world of different ages is stored in folk culture, they said.
They hoped that the festival would sow the seeds of new dreams and aspirations in the mental world of Bangalees to spread the folk culture throughout the country.
Samaj Samikkha Sangha President Quazi Mahmood Imam Bilu, Salauddin Maroof, Golam Farook Dollar, Ahmed Khasru, Shihab Chowdhury Biplob, Azad Bulbul, Rashed Hasan, Taposh Roy and Kamol Rudra spoke at the discussion.
The meeting also decided to accord reception to three reputed persons in recognition of their contribution to folk culture.
