Initiative for citizen journalism launched

A new initiative to highlight and broadcast news stories made by the general people is set to be in motion soon. The initiative was unveiled at a press conference at Jatri auditorium in the city yesterday. The scheme, aimed to empower citizen journalism, will have people across the country use cell phones and other digital devices to photograph and videotape newsworthy events, and post them on a website. Citizens can post opinions, notable photographs or videos on www.nagorikkontho.org or www.write3.com through computers or mobile phones.
