One-way education system stressed
Speakers at a study circle here yesterday underscored creative, joyful, and one-way education system for children so the kids can grow up with sound health and mind.
They urged authorities concerned to prepare a policy incorporating education and culture in a coordinated way to build an educated nation.
The first session of the two-day study circle “International study circle on child education” was held at Shilpakala Academy in Chittagong city.
Integrated Educational-Cultural Programme (IECP), Fulki organised the programme with Prof Anupam Sen in the chair.
Historian Prof Alamgir Mohhamad Sirajuddin inaugurated it as the chief guest. Fulki Chief Executive Abul Momen gave the welcome speech.
Supriya Tagore, ex-principal of Pathabhaban of Santiniketan, said children should be given full scope to enjoy the childhood.
The current educational institutions and the guardians are killing inner spirit of the children in the name of child education, he said.
Acting Consul of Russian Consulate Vladimir Lgorov, Alliance Française Director Samuel Berthet, and artists Alok Roy and Shabiul Alam also spoke.
