Fire guts factory, 4 houses in Ctg
One factory and at least four houses and valuables worth around Tk 44 lakh were gutted in two separate fires in the port city yesterday.
Sources said fire gutted Asian Allied Fabricate Limited in Nasirabad industrial area of Bayezid at around 1:00am.
Quoting eyewitnesses fire officials said the fire was originated from electric short circuit and burned goods and different machines.
He said eight fire fighting units of Agrabad, Bayazid and Chandanpura fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the blaze in two hours.
Fire fighting units recovered around Tk one crore from the spot, sources said.
Another fire at Koibalyadham of North Pahartali area destroyed at least 4 semi paka houses damaging property worth Tk 4 lakh.
The fire was originated from electric short circuit at around 2:30am.
