Deputy Director (DD) of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Chittagong, Shabbir Hasan who was arrested with the bribe money of Tk 10 lakh taken from a garment industry was sent to jail last night. Earlier yesterday, garment industry 'Four H Group' Commercial Manager Naushad Chowdhury filed a case with Double Mooring Police Station. He was sent to the jail after he was produced before the court. While taking the bribe, Rab men caught Shabbir red handed at ACC office at Agrabad in the port city around 10:30pm on Sunday. Shabbir earlier demanded Tk 50 lakh as bribe from Four H Group in exchange of giving a positive report on its missing consignment from Chittagong Port. Later, the bribe was fixed at Tk 30 lakh and Tk 10 lakh was the first instalment. Naushad went to the ACC office on Sunday night with a hidden video camera as per the suggestion of Rab men who also took position near the spot and later caught Shabbir. ACC Director Major Faisal Pasha said they would conduct an official inquiry into the matter after filing a case against the ACC DD.
