Stolen cables, drugs recovered
Police arrested nine people and recovered stolen electric cables, Yaba tablets, and Phensedyl during three separate drives here in the wee hours of yesterday.
Six persons were held and around 700-kg of electric cables seized at Coronal Jones road around 2:00am in a drive by Pahartali police.
Bajor Uddin, 27, Bablu, 27, Ameer Hossaain, 25, Monir Hossain, 27, Saddam Hossain, 20, and Abul Bashar, 18, were nabbed while distributing the stolen cables.
In another drive, Double Mooring police recovered 28 pieces of Yaba tablet at Badamtali intersection around 2:00am, detaining two persons -- Abu Taher, 42, and Lokman, 38.
They also arrested one Abdur Rahman, 22, with three hundred bottles of Phensedyl at Beparipara. Police filed three separate cases against the nine in these connections.
