SQ Chy gets bail

Court Correspondent
A Dhaka court yesterday granted bail to BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury in connection with a case filed for setting a car ablaze at Moghbazar that left one person dead. However, he must remain in jail, as he was shown arrested in connection with crimes against humanity during the Liberation War. Judge Mohammad Zohurul Haque of the Metropolitan Session Judge's Court passed the order after Salauddin's lawyer submitted an appeal seeking bail. The car was set ablaze on June 26, 2010, on the eve of a hartal called by the opposition. Car passenger Faruk Hossain was critically injured and he died at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on July 1.
