Diabetic Fair begins
A two-day 'Diabetic Fair' began here yesterday, inaugurated by Primary and Mass Education Minister Afsarul Ameen as the chief guest in Chittagong Diabetic Hospital complex with Diabetic Association Vice-President of Chittagong SM Shawkat in the chair.
Association General Secretary Prof Jahangir Chowdhury spoke at the session while the fair Chairman Sahabuddin made the welcome address.
Thirty organisations set up stalls at the fair to provide information about the disease like medicine, food and important instruments.
Praising the fair for creating public awareness, Afsarul said diabetes is a disease that has no permanent cure and so patients must be alert to live in a systematic manner.
