Huge electronic goods seized in Ctg port
Intelligence Department of Chittagong Customs seized a large consignment of illegally imported electronic equipment at Chittagong port yesterday.
The seized materials include 83 pieces of second-hand photocopiers, two sets of 32-inch LCD Television, and 1300 pieces of pencil battery.
DC Port Shamsul Islam in association with Central Intelligence Department of customs recovered the items from a 20-feet container at jetty yard 7 of the port.
RNP Supply Exporter and Importer (Pvt) Ltd imported the illegal items. It was supposed to import Petrol generators worth US$15,255 from Singapore in the container.
Rumman Traders was the local C&F agents of the consignment. The bill of entry date of the consignment was December 14, 2010.
