Barisal Clash
Action to be taken against troublemakers: Sahara
Home Minister Sahara Khatun yesterday said that the government would take stern action against those who were involved in Tuesday's clash in Barisal.
“It was a planned incident. Stern action will be taken against those involved in the clash,” she said while talking to the journalists at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) yesterday morning.
The home minister went to the CMH to see the two policemen, who were critically injured in the clash. IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandker was present.
The two injured police constables - Nannu and Mizanur Rahman - were earlier brought to the CMH from Barisal by helicopter following deterioration of their condition.
On Tuesday, some 50 people, including five cops and a journalist, were injured in a clash between the ruling party-backed transport workers and police over a mobile court drive.
