'Arrest rapist madrasa teacher'
Bangladesh Mahila Parishad condemned the incident of raping an 11-year-old girl by her teacher at Haziganj upazila in Chandpur who was found pregnant later.
In a statement yesterday the leaders of the parishad demanded arrest of the rapist teacher Abdul Jalil who taught Arabic at Kapaikap Alim Madrasa of Kalcho union of Haziganj upazila.
Following a report published at the daily Prothom Alo on Tuesday it was revealed that
Jalil raped the girl six months ago, on 3rd August.
The incident came to the light when she was taken to doctor at Chandpur following some physical problems and doctor diagnosed her pregnancy.
The girl's father on 5th January complaint it to the prinicpal of that madrasa. But the principal along with the governing body members of the madrasa and local people started pressuring the father to give her under age daughter marriage with Abdul Jalil.
Expressing grief, leaders of Mahila Parishad demanded punishment of the teacher.
