Shahbagh flower shops 'evicted'
Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) evicted around hundred makeshift structures of flower vendors at Shahbagh in the city as part of the ongoing drive to free the footpath from illegal occupancy on the eve of the World Cup Cricket 2011.
They, however, did not touch the permanent ones set up occupying part of Suhrawardy Udyan at the entry to Shahbagh Police Station.
