Amin Chairman denied bail
A Chittagong court yesterday rejected a bail prayer of Aminur Rahman alias Amin Chairman, a local BNP leader, who is prime accused of the 11-murder case of Banskhali in the port city and sent him to jail after hearing.
Judge Abdul Kuddus Mia of Chittagong District and Sessions Judge's Court passed the order.
Public Prosecutor Abul Hasem said to The Daily Star that seven witnesses have given their testimony under section 161 against Amin Chairman.
On direction of Amin, accused Yunus and his gang burnt houses of the minority family, added the PP.
Defense lawyer Muhammed Russel said they will submit petition before higher court against the order.
Earlier, Criminal Investigation Department submitted a supplementary charge sheet showing Amin as prime accused on January 10 incident.
Later, Amin moved to High Court for bail that directed him to surrender before the Chittagong District Court.
