SAHR hails decision on Indo-Pak talks
South Asians for Human Rights (SAHR), a network of human rights defenders in South Asia, has welcomed the decision taken by India and Pakistan to resume peace talks that were broken off after the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai.
In a statement signed by Hina Jilani, chairperson of SAHR, said resumption of the composite dialogue process the two countries had decided to resume dialogue "on all issues," including counter-terrorism and the disputed Kashmir region, says a press release received here yesterday.
Top diplomats of India and Pakistan on the sideline of a Saarc meeting in Bhutanese capital Thimphu agreed to resume the dialogue.
SAHR believes that the talks will provide a much needed opportunity to bridge the differences as well as take positive steps towards peace between the two countries.
