Workshop on 5th census held
Workshop on upcoming fifth population census was held yesterday at Chittagong Circuit House premises, organised by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics.
Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Sherajul Haque Khan attended as the chief guest with additional divisional commissioner (development) in the chair while district commissioners, police, Rab, Navy and intelligence officials were also present.
Speakers said around four lakh people would be deployed for the countrywide census with 130 district coordinators; 530 upazila coordinators; 2,700 local officers; 50,000 supervisors and 3.10 lakh field workers.
The census would begin on March 15 and continue till March 19. To avoid double count, field workers on March 16 would question residents on the whereabouts of members absent on the night of March 15, they added.
