Hathazari Police Station Sub-inspector Omer Faruk said Jewel and his three friends were returning to the city from Fatikchari. At Peskarhat of Hathazari, they stopped to have a boat trip in the Halda river, said the SI, adding that the boat sank after few minutes of the ride and four other riders could come back to bank. In another incident, an unidentified labourer went missing after he fell into the river Karnaphuli from a ship at Dolphin Jetty in Chittagong yesterday. Sources said five workers were unraveling a net that got entangled with the propeller of the ship, Banglar Joyti, owned by Bangladesh Shipping Corporation. The propeller started running before they finished undoing the tangle. Four other labourers managed to leave the net, but one could not come out and fell into the river.
