4 killed, 44 injured in road accident
Four people were killed and 44 others injured in road accidents in Gopalganj and Dinajpur on Saturday and yesterday.
Our correspondent from Gopalganj reports: Four people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Tungipara, Kashiani and Sadar upazila on Saturday night and yesterday.
Police said the first accident occurred yesterday morning at Patgati Bazar of Tungipara upazila when a speedy bus hit a cement-laden rickshaw van, leaving Lucky Begum, 26, dead on the spot and injuring her son and the van puller critically.
Another accident occurred yesterday on Dhaka-Khulna highway when a motorcycle hit Bhabesh Chandra Roy, 55, while he was crossing the road at police line intersection, leaving him dead.
Meanwhile, another accident took place on Dhaka-Khulna highway near Dhusor Bridge of Kashiani upazila when a bus hit a passenger carrying van, leaving van puller Shamim Sarder, 18, and passenger Abdul Hannan Munshi dead.
Our correspondent from Dinajpur adds: 42 passengers of a bus injured in a road accident on Dinajpur-Rangpur highway at Ranirbandar of the district yesterday.
Police said the accident took place when a bus with crammed passenger fall into a roadside ditch while the bus tried to overtake a truck.
