Essay contest for visually impaired students held

The Institute of Hazrat Mohammad (SAW), a foundation for social welfare, organised an essay competition for visually impaired students on February 16. The competition aimed at generating the participants' understanding of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi. The winners of the competition were selected from three groups. Group A (class I-IV) winners are Rina Aktar and Jannatul Firdous of Muradnagar Government Blind School, Chittagong; Shariful Islam Sohag of Government Blind School, Khulna; and Yasmin Aktar of ABC Complex, Gazipur. Winners from Group B (class VI-X) are Md Rubel Miah, Mir Azizul Haque Apan and Zahidul Islam Barkat of Brahmanbaria High School; and Miftahul Jannat of ABC Complex, Gazipur. Mahmuda Khatun and Masuda Aktar Mukta of Chittagong University; and Jahanara Dewan and Shahida Afroz Mim of Dhaka University were adjudged winners from Group C (college and university). National Human Rights Commission Chairman Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman; Libyan Ambassador Ahmed Ateya Hamd Al-Imam, Indonesian Ambassador Zet Mirzal Zainuddin, Sri Lankan Ambassador WA Sarath Kumara Weragoda, Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner Afzaal Mahmood, Bangladesh Institute for International and Strategic Studies Chairman M Firdaus Mian and The Asia Foundation Country Representative Hasan M Mazumdar also spoke on the occasion.
