Dr Ahmed Sharif's anniversary of death today
Today is the 12th death anniversary of Dr Ahmed Sharif, a renowned scholar, researcher of medieval Bangla literature, and a forerunner of free thought movements.
Sawdesh Chinta Shangha has arranged Dr Ahmed Sharif commemoration lecture and award giving function at Dhaka University Business Studies Faculty at 4:00pm today.
Renowned writer and intellectual of West Bengal Soilesh Kumer Banerjee will deliver the commemoration lecture this year, says a press release.
The commemoration awards will be given to pioneer of women journalism and Editor of 'Begum' magazine Nurjahan Begum and Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed's (CRP) Founder and Coordinator Valerie A Taylor.
