Hizb ut-Tahrir man held in city
Police arrested a suspected member of banned militant outfit Hizb-ut-Tahrir Bangladesh (HTB) in the city's PC Culture Housing area yesterday.
Police said they also recovered 104 posters containing anti state and anti government statements from the possession of detained Ibne Mizan alias Sentu, 25, when he was pasting those posters at the walls along with his three other associates, who ran away.
Police said during preliminary interrogation, Sentu admitted that he is an active member of the banned organisation.
The government banned Hizb-ut-Tahrir, an extremist organisation, on Oct 22, 2009.
