2 missing labourers found dead in Sylhet
Police recovered decomposed bodies of two day labourers, who went missing for a week, on Dona border in Kanaighat upazila of the district Tuesday night.
The deceased were identified as Altaf Ali, 26, son of Kala Miah, and Yunus Miah, 25, son of Abdul Malek, both hailing from Mikirpara village in the upazila.
The bodies were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College morgue for autopsy early yesterday, said Shafiqur Rahman Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kanaighat Police Station.
They may have been killed a few days ago, as the bodies had begun to rot, the OC said.
The bodies were disposed on the border sometime on Tuesday, he added.
Indian Khasia tribesmen may be behind the killing, suspect the locals.
