BNP leader killed in Narayanganj
A leader of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal (SD), a voluntary and front organisation of BNP, was killed at Mizmizi village at Siddhirganj in Sadar upazila early yesterday.
Locals found body of Mokhlesur Rahman Juboraj, 48, joint health affairs secretary of central committee of SD, and resident of House No 2, Road 29, Section 10, Mirpur, Dhaka.
The body bore injury marks, including a head wound.
Wife of the victim Dr Tahmina Akhter said he left house at 4:30pm Thursday to join a human chain programme at National Press Club in capital and talked with her over cell phone at 6:30pm. His cell phone remained inoperative since then and did not return home at night.
Being informed police recovered the body at Paschimpara of Mizmizi village and sent to hospital morgue for autopsy in the morning.
Police suspect he might have been beaten and then strangled to death by assailants after midnight night.
