Disposal of Waste in Rivers
Action against 20 industrial units underway
Shreepur Pourashava will take action against 20 industrial units for disposal of hazardous industrial wastes in the surrounding rivers and cannels.
Sreepur Pourashava mayor Anisur Rahman said this while launching a citizens' drive for cleanliness at Mouna crossing of Shreepur Pourashava town yesterday.
The mayor along with ward councilors, representatives of upazila parishad and citizens' groups participated in the drive by cleaning drains stuck by garbage.
Earlier, a colourful procession was brought out in the town to motivate and mobilise the citizens of the town so that they can ensure a clean and healthy environment.
