Bangladesh relief reaches Japan
A special aircraft (C-130) carrying relief materials supplied by Bangladesh government arrived at Narita Airport in Japan yesterday in response to the Pacific Ocean earthquake at Tohoku district.
The relief materials include 2,000 blankets, 500 pairs of rubber boots and 1,000 pairs of rubber gloves.
According to a press release issued by the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka yesterday, the blankets will be distributed to the people affected by the disaster and now taking refuge in the place away from their home town. And rubber boots and rubber gloves will be dispatched to the areas affected by the disaster.
"These supplies will be very useful for the devastated people in the respective areas to recover their homes," the press release added.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister Dipu Moni sent messages of sympathy and condolences to Prime Minister Kan and Foreign Minister Matsumoto respectively.
