Green architecture for better environment stressed
Speakers at a seminar in the city yesterday observed expansion of green architecture, ecology-friendly and resource efficient structure are needed for improving human health through maintaining better environment.
Green architecture could only be achieved by a design that ensures efficient use of environment-friendly construction materials, efficient consumption of energy as well as water and other resources, the speakers told the seminar.
Green Architecture offers an opportunity to use resources efficiently while creating healthier buildings that improve human health, they said.
Department of Architecture of Bangladesh University and Engineering and Technology (Buet) and GIZ Progress jointly organised the seminar titled 'Towards Green Architecture' at the Buet Council Bhaban.
State Minister for Science and ICT Architect Yeafesh Osman spoke as the chief guest at the seminar with Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr SM Nazrul Islam in the chair.
