Main accused arrested
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Azam Ali Bayati, the main accused of businessman Nizamul Islam Nio murder case, from city's Banasree on Wednesday night.
According to Azam's information, Rab recovered a pistol and two bullets from a ditch in city's Meradia.
Rab said acting on a tip off, they arrested him from in front of Banasree Ideal School around 11:05pm.
During preliminary interrogation, Azam confessed that he and his associates Yunus, Swapan, Baharul and Bijoy were involved in killing Nizamul.
Nizamul was shot dead by miscreants in Khilgaon on May 24 while another man was wounded.
