E-service centres at all districts by Aug
Major services at the 64 district administrations will come under digital system by August, ending the era of traditional ways of providing government services, which often cause sufferings to public.
All upazila headquarters will also have the similar service centres by the end of 2012, a workshop on digital Bangladesh was told here yesterday.
A model one stop service center has already been introduced in Jessore and two more will be operative in Chittagong and Sylhet soon, it was also told.
Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) organised the orientation programme for the journalists of Barisal division with its Managing Director and Chief Editor Ihsanul Karim was in the chair.
State minister for local government Jahangir Kabir Nanok inaugurated the workshop at the conference hall of Barisal deputy commissioner.
Prime Minister's Private Secretary-1 and National Project Director of A2I Programme M Nazrul Islam Khan presented the keynote paper on the issue.
Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Director General Dulal Chandra Biswas made a presentation on the ways of effective coverage of digital Bangladesh.
Barisal DC Arif-Ur-Rahman and BSS City Editor and Focal Point BSS-A2I Media Campaign Ajit Kumar Sarkar also spoke.
BSS-A2I Media Consultant for Promoting Digital Bangladesh M Rahmat Ali moderated the workshop.
Some 30 journalists participated in the workshop, supported by the Access to Information (A2I) Programme of the Prime Minister Office.
