9 killed, 12 hurt in road accidents
Nine people were killed and twelve others injured in separate road accidents in Pabna, Sirajganj, Bogra, Khulna and Nilphamari on Sunday and yesterday.
Our Pabna correspondent reports, two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured as two motorbikes collided head-on on Pabna-Ishwardi road in Bohorpur area of Ishwardi upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased are Faruk Hossain, 35, and Atikur Rahman, 26.
Injured Shohag Hossain was admitted to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex.
Meanwhile, schoolboy Sabbir Hossain, 11, died instantly and his father Robiul Islam got injured as a tractor hit their motorbike at Shahpur Patshala square in the upazila on Sunday.
Robiul was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Agitating locals put up barricades at Shahapur intersection disrupting vehicular movement for one hour.
In Sirajganj, rickshaw-van puller Abdul Alim, 30, was killed instantly as a coach hit him on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway near Samabay Filling Station yesterday morning.
UNB from Bogra says, two people were killed and 10 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch after hitting a tree in Nandigram upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased are Samjal, 60, and Ashraf Ali, 45.
The injured were admitted to different local hospitals and clinics.
In Khulna, two motorcyclists died when a bus rammed their motorbike on Khulna-Mongla highway at Aktel Tower point in Rupsa upazila on Sunday evening.
They are Ripon, 22, and Hasan, 23.
BSS from Nilphamari adds, rider Jamiar Rahman, 42, died when a bus hit his motorbike from the opposite direction on Domar-Debiganj road at Domar upazila on Sunday.
