Election and Emergency Rules

The nation is currently watching a debate and discussion on media on a vital issue, whether the election can be held with the EPR on, or it has to be lifted before the election. The opinions are mixed and divided, depending on who is taking which side. The argument for and against the issue is basically depended on individual choice for democratic order, irrespective of its universally recognised character. It is one of the many issues that are now being created in the political arena to develop a kind of uncertainty about the election. The attempt has apparently been successful. The decision makers would eventually be successful in implementing their own political "roadmap'. Personally, I dislike the word "roadmap' because it has no or very few success records, which I am not aware of, in national or international political problem solving. I think those who are in favour of keeping the emergency must explain to the nation in understandable language, not in Bateni language, why they want to keep the emergency rules and hold the election. Emergency rules are contrary to democratic order and curtail the freedom of the people along with other fundamental rights. In the backdrop of all this, one would expect that the politicians and talk show people will redirect their wisdom and media power to a more positive thinking to re-establish democratic order in the country.
