9 killed in road crashes
Nine people were killed and 16 others injured in road accidents in Tangail, Natore, Rangpur, Thakurgaon, Kishoreganj and Manikganj on Tuesday and yesterday.
Our Tangail correspondent reports, three people were killed and 10 others injured as a bus hit a standing truck from behind in Kalihati upazila Tangail yesterday.
The dead were Hasna Hena, 40, Munni Akter, 21, and Saddam Hossain, 19.
Our Natore correspondent reports, three people were killed in road accidents on Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway in Natore yesterday.
In an accident, Muktar Hossain, 35, and Golam Rabbani, 22 were killed on the spot when a privet car and a bus collided head-on in Shreerampur area around 4:30pm
In another incident, Md Abdullah, 30, was killed on the spot when a truck hit him in Airmari area around 11:45am.
Our Rangpur correspondent reports, Md Abu Kalam, 50, was killed in a road accident on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Mondalpara area in Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur on Tuesday.
Police said a truck hit Kalam killing him on the spot around 6:00pm.
Our Thakurgaon correspondent reports, a motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured in an accident on Panchagarh-Dhaka highway in Boda uapazila in Panchagarh on Tuesday.
The deceased was Anisur Rahman, 38.
UNB reports from Kishoreganj, a schoolboy was killed in a road accident on Karimgonj-Palaikanda highway at Palaikanda village in Karimganj upazila yesterday.
The victim Sharif, 9, a class two student at Palaikanda Govt. Primary School, was killed on the spot when a tractor hit him around 2:00pm.
Our Manikganj correspondent reports, four people including three policemen were injured in a road accident at on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Shivalaya upazila in Manikganj on Tuesday.
Police said the accident took place when a human-hauler hit a truck from behind injuring two assistant sub-inspectors Rafikul Islam and Kajal Mia and constable Shaheen.
