Two die as trains run them over
A girl and an elderly woman died as trains ran them over in separate incidents in the sadar and Lalpur upazilas of the district yesterday.
Natore Railway Station Master Ashok Kumar said a girl, identified as Jui Khatun, 3, daughter of Ibrahim Ali of village Beerpara, died instantly as she went under a Dinajpur-bound running train while she was playing beside the rail line in Beerpara area of the sadar upazila around 2:00pm.
Meanwhile, a Khulna-bound train crushed Nurjahan Begum, 70, wife of Hanif Ali, in Azimnagar station area of Lalpur upazila around 11:00am while she was crossing the railway tracks, railway sources said.
